Research Technician
Job responsibilities: An experienced and innovative researcher will support a diverse entomology and crop research program to evaluate biotechnology traits in agronomic crops. The Research Technician will work with our Research Leader to conduct field and laboratory research trials based from our research facility near Granger, IA. Duties will also include hiring and overseeing part-time personnel and assisting in the management of our research programs.

Desired skills and experience:
MS or BS in entomology, agronomy, or related field and at least 3 years of agricultural research experience
Experience in conducting entomology or agronomy field studies
Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word

Research Intern - Summer 2008
The Research Intern will provide field support to the research activities of an independent, agricultural research firm located near Des Moines, IA. The intern will learn small plot crop research procedures and pest insect collection and monitoring techniques.
The Intern’s duties will include assisting in field research in agronomy and entomology, collecting insect populations for resistance monitoring programs, conducting laboratory assays, and studying non-target organisms under field conditions. The intern will also be expected to interact with growers, clients, and other researchers.
Candidates must have experience in agriculture or be in an agricultural program. The intern will be based at our company headquarters near Granger, IA. Duties will include some overnight travel within Iowa and to surrounding states. The intern will be provided an hourly salary based on experience. This is a full-time position with some overtime and possible weekends. A valid driver’s license is required.
